I can support the "aberglaube" of zeiss\leitz superiority, but find that when I take my standard testing snaps of neighboring roofs, that I unconsciously tend to look more favourably on lenses that i out of habit assume to be better. The cure is to make notes when exposing and when observing, but only to be combined afterwards, but not to know which is which when looking at the pictures. The slogan for all observational research "double blind" should be applied. Also,
for real photography, experience gathered from actual use should be considered.
