Well, the
Leica M 240 and M9 also have issues with wide angle lenses. The Leica fixes the issues internally with their own 6-bit coded lenses but does not fix the issues with Voigtlander or Zeiss WA lenses. The Sony will have nothing in place to fix this as I do not see them creating firmware with lens coding though I am going to push for this when I am with Sony all week starting Oct 28th.
But they designed the camera for their own lenses, and I have to say, their own 35 2.8 and 55 1.8 are looking VERY good. Sharp, nice Bokeh, fast to AF, etc. So in the end we may not even need Leica glass or want Leica glass on this camera as we will probably get better results with the native lenses.
For example, I will guess that using the 55 1.8 will yield sharper results than using a Leica 50 1.4 while having super fast AF.
