Hello Peter!

Thank you very much for your inquiry. The answer to your question is
different depending on which model Canon. So I will answer in two parts:

1. For Canon EOS 20D, EOS 30D, and EOS 40D: The AF boxes show normally.
The boxes will also light in the correct fashion. There is no change in
the appearance or behavior of the AF boxes in these models.

2. For Canon EOS 10D, 300D (DRebel), 350D (Rebel XT), 400D (Rebel XTi),
and 450D (Rebel XSi): The rectangles can be marked on the screen, but
this feature is optional and additional cost. However, with or without
the optional rectangles, the center dot at each focusing point will not
light up in these cameras.

Na das sind doch schon mal gute Infos!! Also bleibt alles beim "Alten" bis auf der Tatsache ich eine SchniBi drin haben wuerde!
Aus meiner Sicht also keine Nachteile!
