The changes and adjustments made in Wetzlar must have been quite extensive when you consider the short Minolta "fassung" and the far longer one of Leitz R and notice the intricate mechanisms for filters behind the lens, This was not as easy as just adding an adapter. No wonder that the R-mount 800mm never got as much PR as the 500 even though it is mentioned in the general catalogue (with the corresponding long refractive leitz in Minolta mount listed in Minolta sales literature as "special order").
