I had also thought about a lens with an image scale of more than 2:1, but then decided against it because you can only use it effectively with a tripod.

I bought it soon after it was made available. The lens is always in my camera bag as I do a lot of macro. I use it mainly with m4/3 Olympus but sometimes with FF Sony A7r3 (example below, f16, field of view 15mm wide). I have never used it on a tripod but usually with remote control, through the lens, twin flash.
