Nochmals , entschuldigenn sie English,
I received a working IIa with Ultron a few days ago and ran the first franmes of a film through it, Respooled after the first 10 and repeated some of the snaps with a Contax ST plus its 35-135 set at 50mm, so as to get an impression of difference.
Conclusion, from using a loupe on the 400ASA negatives: the Ultron, on this filmstock, is as sharp and contrasty as the Zeiss zoom. bright summer day, hence small apertures.
But i also dicovered that focussing the Contax split image in a hurry is more difficult than the Vitomatics double image spot. AND I have been spoilt with the ease of focussing my Z7 and am not used to less exact methods. Exposdures were accurate.
So if anyone is pondering surgery on a working IIa (stuck shutter below 1/5 does not count), my advice is to try using it as is.
