I once found a Wild stereoviewer in its original box complete with instructions at a fleamarket. I did of course buy it. When I mounted the large frame and put in the oculars , I discovered that it had a very wide field of view and that the device probably was intended for mapmaking. And useless for looking at the old 4x4cm B&W stereo pictures I have.

To utilize it I printed an A-4size stereo pair. It worked, however, printing large everytime would be impractical, so I gave the device away to a stereo photo enthusiast friend.

In the photo archives I inherited from my father there are several B&W stereo images & a suitable viewer. Looking at the negatives and the mounted prints it seems that the pictures had to be printed and mounted separately in spite of the formats being the same.
