I discovered that the zeiss binohead has three screws fastening the schwalbering. so i will simply srew on a suitable mount to fit my diagonal, no idea whether the brillentaugliche kpl eyepieces will conflict with the refractor optics, but experiments will show.
My microcope equipment (a junior GF and a standard 15) is of the 160mm tubelengt type, but i do not think that matters in a telescope where you can run the rear fittings back and forth. (another matter is my search for a not inordinately expensive 65mm plan achro not of the infinite tube length type: they seem not to be made anymore and used ones do COST.

Jetz habe ich mein amateurchirurgie aufgegeben. When removing the Schwalbenring i found that the beam splitter prism is fastened to the ring and to replace the ring with anything else will not just involve 3 screws but several, plus a collimation and centering problem. So the project is paused until I decide to castrate the microscope I snatched the binoviewer from in ordr to use its snap-in mount.
Removing interchangeable parts from classic equipment is allowable, but irreversibly (?) destroying is another matter.

Hello Paul,
maybe I have some Zeiss-West spare parts for your bino-project. I will search for them the next days. If I should find something,
you can have them for free... I would send you a PM, then.
Best regards,
Christian
