Noch ROHS schwierigheiten?
Ich støbere jetzt durch potensiell interessante alte "postings" und fand fragen die glaseigenchaften infragestelte nach einführung EUs ROHS direktiv.
(German grammar is too difficult:) Is there any new details on whether the optics indiustry got a permanent excemption
AND would there be any advantage in using the glasstypes that were originally forbidden .
(unless people grind up and eat their lenses, the lens waste can hardly be more a public health hazard than the risk (from a badly designed) lens grinding work place, Nor a bigger risk than from cadmium yellow pigments or lead in xrayshielding eaquipment.
SO, Ich suche info ad was man verliere und welche relebvante regeln man heute muss folge.

still unclear what continued use of dubious substances might mean for optics
Yes, the exceptions might be effective, but recalculation and redesign would be necessary for extended use.
Is that just unlikely due to the extra costs (and the cheaper opportunity to correct some optical faults by software) or would major improvements be possible? I always wondered whether the recalculated Zeiss 21mm performed less well (according to mr. Nasse) than the C/Y mount version was due to the glass types selected athough the redesign came before the ROHS took effect.
