That same rose again, with the same lens at f11 but with a 15mm extension tube. The lens focus ring indicated abiut 3.8m or just under 12 feet. So the distance was for the rose to fill the frame. This is not a macro lens. No highlight moderation. The rose is another day older.

This lens arrived today. I think I wanted it for its color rendering and sharpness.
These roses are much smaller than the pink one, about 30mm across.

A Lycogala sp. now said to be a complex of 6 species. The red plasmodium is exuded only occasionally.
